Tip #1 - Get In Shape
So many people claim that they are these big bad street fighting types while they shove a big mac down their throat! If you really want to make it in the street fighting world then you need to get into shape. Stop shoving the fatty foods down your throat and start working out like your life depended on it - because it does!
There are plenty of really great workout plans out there, here is a great MMA workout for you to enjoy.
Tip #2 - Fight Like You Mean It
So many people get wrapped up with technique and how fancy they look. Very few people realize that the second you get into a street fight, most technique goes flying out of the window. If you really want to learn how to fight in the street, learn how to fight for your life, there is a huge difference.
Tip #3 - Get Beat Up
If you have never been hit in the face, then the first time you get into a spat on the streets you are going to be so shocked you may just curl up and get into big trouble. I don't recommend that you go out on the streets looking for unfair fights, what I am saying is that you should join an MMA gym or a Krav Maga gym so that you can get real contact experience.
Most Karate gyms don't actually let you get hit. You need to be able to experience the pain and frustration that comes from another person physically dominating you. It can be a real eye opening experience once you realize that there are other people out there that are going to hurt you.
Tip #4 - Train Your Mind
Learn to think positively and learn to trust your instincts. There are plenty of books at your public library that can teach you how to change the way you think to achieve maximum performance. I recommend that you take a look at some of these books and learn more about critical thinking in terms of life and death situations.
Tip #5 - Avoid Fights
If you really want to be a great street fighter, then you plain need to avoid fighting in the streets. Most of the time street fights end in really permanent physical damage. You could never walk again, or you could get stabbed or some other crazy thing could happen to you and you would be in for a big shock when you can't do any fighting at all because you tried to fight long before you were actually ready.
I recommend that you take a look at some websites on the web that will teach you more about how to become a better street fighter.

Which Is Better Karate Or Boxing
I hate to be one of those guys that starts comparing a bunch of martial arts with another a specially since I am not myself martial artist, but I really do like the intellectual playing around with different martial arts.
This article will talk about the difference between karate and boxing and what might happen if the two are paired up against each other and how you might be littell which is better karate are boxing.
Karate
Karate brings an interesting array of history to the martial arts table. Originally developed as a samurai combat system, this martial art is full of ancient history and has evolved significantly since its inception several 1000 years ago.
Karate that when practiced today in America is very different than the karate that was practiced by the samurai warriors of ancient Japan. The karate that was practiced by the ancient warriors of Japan is more like a mix of karate, judo, jujitsu, kenpo and a little bit of aikido mixed into one complete combat system.
The advantages of karate over boxing are that karate does teach a well rounded striking system including kicks elbows and knees and even includes a little bit of jujitsu.
Karate also incorporates several judo type throws which could be a huge advantage over a boxer.
Boxing
The boxer is on the other hand, if I had to compare, generally more focused on physicality and technique. What I mean by focusing on physicality and technique is that many boxers are in very good fighting shape. So much a boxing is based off of cardio and strengths because you really are only focusing on to a strikingly limbs that any good boxer is someone who has spent a lot of time getting themselves and shape.
Boxing would have the advantage in karate if the boxer was able to close the gap fast and able to make quick work of any possible strikes that the karate player might throw against the boxer.
If a boxer had a little bit of training in how to deal with kicks they would be looked close the gap and make quick work of any karate martial artist.
In my opinion karate probably would outdo boxing in technique but in terms of physicality I think boxing of when. Clear and no holds barred competition I would put my money on the boxer.
